Last week we headed over to Brooklyn's Bedford Stuyesant neighborhood to check up on Restoration Plaza, which was recently renovated by Garrison Architects and completed in 2012. It looked so fabulous, we had to take some pictures!
A little background on the project: Restoration Plaza was originally developed in 1975 as a center of culture, local commerce, and community pride. Garrison Architects’ improvements to the Plaza have helped to create a more open, accessible and vital public center for the neighborhood and re-establish the Plaza as a commercial center of Bed-Stuy. Among the massive structural renovations and additions that were made to the existing site, are the etched glass panels with images of the Plaza’s founders and community leaders, and an integrated projection screen and audio system that adds dynamism and supports interactive public events.
